Eco Trek Tours is pleased to enter into its 3rd school year. We are expanding our reach to more school districts and are offering more tour opportunities.

Eco Trek Tours 2010 season will offer a variety of interactive trips to offer for Burnaby, Surrey, Vancouver, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver school districts.

We organize everything! All you have to do is select the date and the theme and we arrange the rest from transportation to lesson plans.

Tours are designed to meet the BC’s Prescribed Learning Outcomes for grades 4-12. Students have the opportunity to explore local initiatives through an interactive and informative program with a trained environmental educator to support the students throughout the day.

We work with the teacher to ensure it is integrated into their schedule and curricula needs. Learning objectives and lesson plans can often be created and modified to cater to the intended age and curricular focus of your group. Teachers are able to adapt the teaching package materials to meet their students' learning requirements, while Eco Trek will make sure the tour site caters to your age group.

To make space for all districts, tours will be booked on a first come first serve basis.

Tour prices include the following:
Complete trip logistics planning

Roundtrip transportation in Eco Trek’s big green bus

A qualified environmental educator to lead games and generate discussion

Teaching packages with background information and pre- and post-tour lesson plans and activities

Take home packages for students to share with their families

Tours are intended for groups of 30 students. Full-day tours are $480 and Half-day tours are $400 unless otherwise specified. Please consider the additional cost for a TOC, if necessary.

* We tailor our tours to fit the needs of the students. If you have a suggestion on our tours, we would be happy to work with you to improve our organization
* Private, custom made tours are available. If you would like to book a special field trip, you may book the bus and/or environmental educator to accompany you to your intended site.


Booking

Once the tour is confirmed, you will receive an electronic package that includes:

    •     Waiver forms

    •     Letters to the parents

    •     What to bring

    •     Background information and Lessons plans to prepare the students for the field trip

    •     A tour itinerary

    •     Field trip rules

    •     Information about all the tour stops



Cancellation Policy: We require a two week notice for cancellation. Failure to do so may subject classes to 50% of the tour cost and may loose their school’s booking privileges for the school year.

Custom Tours: If you have a great field trip idea and require transportation or an environmental educator, please contact the office to make arrangements.

Other Transportation: EEco Trek Tours would like to work with your school for all environmental field trips. For other transportation needs (shuttle to sports games, multi-day field trips, etc) please contact West Trek Tours www.westtrek.com
