Summer Walking Tours:

Join us for our newest tour, which is catered to all ages and designed to chronicle the creation and maintenance of three of Vancouver's most exciting urban-agriculture initiatives.

The walking tours will start at Vancouver Aquarium's Aquaquest, where our Environmental Educator and assistant guide will be discussing the benefits of vertical gardening. Next, we'll walk to the Vancouver Convention Center, where you'll see the amazing green roofs and beehives that are emblematic of Vancouver's green initiatives. Here you'll learn the structural benefits of rooftop gardening, and its promotion of the environment, health, and economy. Last and definitely not least, we'll walk next door the one of Vancouver's most prestigious hotels - the Fairmont Waterfront - where a certified and globally recognized beekeeper will teach you more than you can learn from an almanac. He'll show you their newest beehives, which are built by Emily Carr's art students and contain over half-a-million bees. He'll teach you about the huge economic and environmental benefit derived from these amazing hives as well as Fairmont's rooftop herb garden.

The tour will start at 14:30 at the Vancover Aquarium, and end at 16:30 at the Fairmont Waterfront. Bookings will necessitate a minimum of +/- 10 attendants, and a maximum of 20. The tours will be available every Friday starting July 9 until September, on a first-come first-serve basis. The cost is $10 per attendant, the profits of which will be placed towards a community contribution in order to promote further sustainable efforts in our local community.
